Rewards Policy

This Rewards Policy explains how XP, Hungry8 Points, rewards, verified visits, redemptions, and related incentives work. It is part of the Hungry8 Terms of Service. If this policy conflicts with the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service control unless this policy gives more specific rules for rewards. A plain-language version is on the Help page.

1. Hungry8 Points Are Promotional

Hungry8 Points are promotional credits used inside Hungry8. They are not cash, stored value, cryptocurrency, a bank account, or a gift card. Hungry8 Points have no cash value, are not legal tender, do not earn interest, and cannot be sold, transferred, inherited, redeemed for cash, or exchanged outside an approved Hungry8 redemption.

2. XP and Hungry8 Points

XP and Hungry8 Points are different.

A GPS-only visit earns XP only. That visit earns 25 XP. It does not earn Hungry8 Points.

Hungry8 Points are earned only when the restaurant's QR code is scanned. Those points are funded by the restaurant's partner points pool. If that pool is empty, the scan does not add Hungry8 Points.

Every Hungry8 Point, including points already in a wallet, is redeemed only when the restaurant's QR code is scanned.

Earning and redemption can still depend on account standing, moderation, and fraud checks. Hungry8 may change eligibility and which restaurants participate.

3. Reviews and Incentives

Reviews, photos, and referrals do not earn Hungry8 Points. If a restaurant mentions any other benefit alongside a review, that benefit is for an honest review, not for a positive review, a negative review, a specific rating, or a preferred sentiment. Users should disclose incentives where required by law, platform rules, or the review flow.

Restaurants may not require, pressure, pay for, or imply that a review must be positive or negative to receive a discount, a reward, or another benefit.

4. Verification and Moderation

Hungry8 Points may require verification before they are credited or redeemed. Verification may include account review, device signals, a QR code scan, GPS proximity, timestamps, restaurant participation, visit signals, content moderation, and other anti-fraud checks.

We may delay, deny, reverse, expire, or adjust XP, Hungry8 Points, or rewards if we believe activity is fraudulent, automated, duplicated, manipulated, abusive, mistaken, ineligible, or inconsistent with Hungry8 rules.

5. Redemptions

Every Hungry8 Point, including points already in a wallet, is redeemed only when the restaurant's QR code is scanned. Redemption may require account verification and compliance with this policy. Hungry8 Points have no fixed cash value.

Reward availability may change. A reward that is available today may not stay available.

6. Expiration and Account Standing

Hungry8 may expire or forfeit Hungry8 Points for inactive accounts, closed accounts, fraud, abuse, violation of terms, a discontinued program, or as disclosed in specific program rules. If your account is suspended, restricted, deleted, or terminated, you may lose access to Hungry8 Points and rewards.

7. Restaurant Partner Points

Hungry8 Points are funded by the restaurant's partner points pool. Hungry8 deducts restaurant points only on a verified QR-scanned visit. If a restaurant runs out of points, cancels a plan, is suspended, or leaves Hungry8, future Hungry8 Points at that restaurant may pause or end. Points already in a wallet stay subject to this policy and any fraud or correction review. Every Hungry8 Point, including points already in a wallet, is redeemed only when the restaurant's QR code is scanned.

8. Taxes

You are responsible for any taxes, reporting obligations, or costs that may apply to rewards or other benefits you receive through Hungry8.

9. Program Changes

Hungry8 may modify, suspend, or discontinue XP, Hungry8 Points, rewards, or this Rewards Policy at any time. Where practical, we will try to provide notice of material changes, but we cannot guarantee that every reward will remain available.
